At Rotary St. Catharines, we are People of Action, who inspire our younger generation to learn to read, aim for higher goals and become the best person they can be. Rotarian Rick Merritt is reading to a young student at Lincoln Centennial School.
The last time our volunteers read to children at Lincoln Centennial School was in March of 2000.  Everything came to a grinding halt with Covid at that time.  We offered to restart the program in September, but the school was reluctant to have adult volunteers back in the school. We are happy to announce we are back in action!
Each week 4 volunteers read to children for 20 minutes each over the course of the hour.  Eventually we’ll also be doing some phonics work with the children.
